inspired by everything

With all the craziness of the new company our left brains have been super busy and the right side has been a bit bored (dangerous thing for the creative mind!). So we thought that a mini-break over Memorial Weekend would be just what we needed to break away and get re-inspired. We took a road trip up and around Mammoth Lakes and found that a change of scenery is great for more than just your sanity.
The first big surprise came when we happened upon snow. Pretty unusual for the end of May and the locals are about ‘over it’, but we were totally fascinated. See? Already appreciating the little things. The sheer magnitude of snow was really what struck us.
We may have been a bit underdressed, but that didn’t stop us from frolicking and having a snowball fight in bare feet (sooo cold). I haven’t done that since I was little – Dad would be so proud!
Windy, snow kissed roads make your heart stop for a moment. You can’t help but love this view.
I was also totally inspired by the trees. I love the cozy idea of burrowing inside a large trunk, and my photo doesn’t do justice to the amazing color of the fuzzy moss covered bark. I’m all about moss these days! You’ll start to soon see moss showing up over at Redefine Home – in terrariums, covering furniture, etc. Love it.
More stuff to love? Check out this great barn. I love the B, it makes me think of a childrens book (B is for Barn).

We also found some great ideas for the store, but I’ll share that another day. I’m about road-tripped out. Happy Tuesday (I’m a day behind)!
