Fresh Finds at Redefine Home

It’s summertime and I couldn’t be happier.  Time to get out and enjoy the sunshine.  I’m looking forward to time spent reading, gardening and lots of water activities.   But in order to free up time later, I’ve been a busy little bee this spring, finding great new things for our store.  And in the spirit of spending less time inside I’m going to keep this feature short and sweet.  Here are a few of my favorite new things at Redefine Home this month.

Reclaimed painted wood bedThe Nantucket Bed – reclaimed wood with remnants of paint.  Fun!  It’s part of a collection of pieces that I’ll be releasing over the course of the summer.

Antique hand carved animal

Wooden Beast – One of our new found objects.  This is an antique, hand carved animal (any guesses what kind?).

Granite Clay Vase with Black Matte Interior

I showed you a sneak peak of Humble Ceramics a few weeks ago, and now we’re finally launching!  This piece, the brain vase, is my favorite.

Traditional Waxed Elm End Table

This is the Mackenzie Side Table and I think it’s one of the classiest pieces we’ve got.  I’m not sure why exactly, it’s just got a nice shape and I love the waxed elm finish.

Find these and the rest of our fresh finds in the What’s New section of Redefine Home.  Then take a break and head outside.

Fresh Finds for May

I know I’ve been a broken record lately, but I just can’t get over how fast time is going by these days.  Just moments ago it seems I was making resolutions in January and here we are suddenly in May.  I can’t quite get a grasp on the days, though I’m certainly trying to make the most of them, especially now that it’s warm and bright out until practically bedtime (mine anyway).

Anywho, since it is May, it’s time again to release our Fresh Finds at Redefine Home.  I’ve been hard at work over the last several weeks and I’m excited to have a TON of stuff to introduce this month.  While I think they’re all great pieces (since I picked them), I do have a couple favorites that I want to share.  So here goes, Linsi’s List of Exquisite Items.  You can see these and all the rest in our What’s New section at Redefine Home.

funky wood dresser

The Alegra Dresser

I’ve been in a funky mood lately and this dresser is fittin’ my style.  It’s got just a slightly weird shape to it and feels kind of Alice In Wonderland-y while still being totally appropriate for a normal home.

Seafoam french tufted loveseat

The Coco Loveseat

I love me some tufting and I’m also seriously falling for that light seafoam color!  It’s subtle, in certain light it looks like a natural linen and would actually pair well with a whole host of other room palettes (for those who are scared of color).  The the fabric is really luxurious and has a nice sheen and great texture to it.

Mediterranean wrought iron bed

The Elijah Bed

I thought it was impossible to like the look of a metal bed.  But the Elijah and Ma Belle beds instantly changed my tune, though I still think they are exceptions to the rule…Elijah has personality and I’m always drawn to that Mediterranean clover shape.  And Ma Belle, well, she’s just soo pretty.

metal and wood industrial dining table

The Jonas Table

I’m kind off-theme here but I’m really digging this industrial table.  The rustic, reclaimed wood top is similar to our farmhouse table (another fave) and that metal base reminds me of a bridge.   So cool.

Well those are my top picks.  Check out what else is new and tell me what you like best.  Peace Yo.

Spotlight on Humble Ceramics

I hit the jackpot a few weeks ago when I stumbled upon a new favorite blog called AtHomeAtHome written by LA Based photographer Laure Joliet.  Her blog is filled with inspirational images and she likes to write about local so-cal artists and designers.

On this particular day that I found Laure’s blog she had featured the up-and-coming  Humble Ceramics.  It was love at first sight for me and I knew I had to have these in our store.  As luck would have it, artist and generally lovely lady Delphine was happy to oblige and we headed up to her Brentwood studio to see the collection.

In person these babies shock and amaze.  The texture, the color, the weight!  Each piece in the collection I fell in love with is made with granite, so they look and feel amazing.

Humble Ceramics collection

As Delphine described, the clay has a life of it’s own and you never know what it will do in the kiln.  So while the shape and size can be predetermined, opening the kiln is like taking a look at your newborn…always a surprise and you’re guaranteed to love it instantly.

These aren’t quite ready to launch at Redefine Home yet, but I promise we’ll have them up soon.  Since they’re all one of a kind it’s best to grab while you can.  And if you just can’t wait, shoot me an email and I’ll send you pictures of the collection we have in store.

Fresh Finds for April

Yes, I know I’m a week late but I wanted to wait for our new series The Victory Garden to launch, which it did last Friday.

Here’s what’s new at Redefine Home this month:

Gotta start out with the Victory Garden.  I am so excited about these prints for several reasons.  A) They look really cool,  B) The message is near and dear to my heart, C) This is a brand new artist that we’re adding to our collectionart prints for the victory garden

Check these out.  Funky, graphic, futuristic posters that advocate eating locally, growing your own garden and generally just loving the planet.  Seriously, could these be any cooler?  These babies look awesome in wide black frames with a white matte and hung in a collection (I say 3-4 work best).  They’re perfect for a kitchen, but I want them in my living room.  Talk about a conversation starter.  Conceptualized

More cool stuff.

round metal bar cart

The Faraz Bar Cart - I usually am shopping for myself when I source new products, and this is no exception.  I want a bar cart and this one is so versatile because it’s round and small and actually in a finish that would work in most homes.  It’s affordable too.  Ding ding ding, winner.

wood and metal adjustable bar stool

The Avi Adjustable Barstool – Simple, functional, good-looking.

kilim upholstered bench

The Kilim Bench – I picture this bench as unexpected seating at a somewhat formal, glossy finish dining table with slipcovered chairs all around it.  Each bench is  unique with varying upholstery and washed finishes.

taupe upholstered dining chairThe Claire Dining Chair – A little fancy with all those tufts.  I think these chairs are perfect around a farmhouse or rustic trestle dining table.  And I love the color.

So glad it’s spring!  Have a great one.

E-Design Giveaway, the Winner is…

Congratulations Lori! You are the winner of the drawing for a free Custom Room E-Design.

Here’s what Lori is looking for:

I would choose the great room in our weekend place.  We have been under construction for over 3 years, doing the majority of the work ourselves. We have put so much time and energy into building the structure that I’m not sure I have what it takes to finish this project. A beautiful and functional room seems to have so many layers and I need help pulling it all together!  The feeling I would like to achieve is a light and airy, relaxed, beach house feel.

I really look forward to working with you and helping finish off this space you’ve worked so hard on!
